Steven Boyd, John Fearon and Martin Moore relaxing at tea after setting a club record score of 271-1

On the 6th May 2007 Mount Edgcumbe played against Cheesewring CC at Upton Cross.

Batting first we set a then club record score of 271-1.  John Fearon carried his bat to score 114*, his maiden century.  He opened with Steve Boyd (62) in a first wicket partnership of 105.  Martin Moore joined John to score 59* and help post a record second wicket partnership of 166*, which was also the all-time highest score for any wicket.

This may have been the only instance ever of an innings featuring two century partnerships or  an innings  where all three batsmen scored half centuries.

Indoor Final Results

The final game of the indoor season saw us manage a win against Cornwood C, but it was to no avail as we still finished bottom of the first division.

Good fielding and bowling restricted Cornwood C to 62 runs, an easy target you would think, but until Ollie hit three sixes and some more we were struggling.

Cornwood C 62ao, Andy 2 for 20, Ollie 1 for 9, Mt Edgcumbe 63 for 3, Ollie 25no, Andy 20no, a toss up for man of the match, my vote goes to Ollie for the the over that turned the game our way.

The week before we lost to Plympton 122 for 5, when we could only manage 74 for 4, Jon Cummings top scored with 21.

Andy finished third in the batting averages for the league with and average of 74.33
Finishing 10th, 11th and 12th with the most runs scored in the league
Andy 223
Jon Cummings 206
Ollie 205

In the Bowling averages for the league Richard finished 6th and Ben 11th
Richard 22.78
Ben 30.40
Finishing 9th and 10th with the most wickets taken in the league
Rob Lock 9
Richard  9

Here is looking forward to the new outdoor season
