v Cheesewring 14 July 2019 (home)

A lightening fast outfield and teams depleted because of that other game of cricket somewhere in England, meant it was likely to be a good day for batsmen and not a good one for bowlers!

After loosing the toss, we were in the field and although Ahmed picked up a couple of early wickets, the runs flowed. 163 for 4, became 207 for 6 with the opposition finishing with 244 all out. Ahmed picked up three, Rob L two, with one apiece for Dave, Andrew and Ben.
A big ask? Andrew and Ben opened and after 10 overs we were scoring at 8 an over without loss, Andrew retired injured on 53, his fifty off 41 balls in 40 mins. Ben was joined by Nurez and the scoring continued, after 20 overs, 161 without loss. Ben completed his fifty in 52 balls in 67 mins, eventually out for 66. Nurez continued to dominate the bowling, reaching fifty off 24 balls in 24 mins and retired on reaching his 100 off 57 balls in 67 mins, with the score on 240. Tom and Barry saw us through to victory, without further loss. The run continues.
